Happy dreams only, here at The Beacon Centre Primary as some of Class 2 model their dream catchers.
Nightmares are a thing of the past now!
Tuesday 1st October 2019
PC Darren Lough and CSO Stevie G popped into The Beacon Centre Primary to build links with the school and engaging with the kids.
Class 1 enjoyed their time with the police, having the opportunity to test out the handcuffs, dressing up and they even got to go in the police car.
Class 2 asked sensible questions and showed they’re ready to join in.
All of the children said a massive ‘Thanks!’ to our brilliant visitors!

A massive well done to our primary children who’ve worked incredibly hard to raise money by being part of the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning! Super signs were made and a fabulous service from our children.
Our store manager’s mam came to collect him, and made time for a cuppa and cake as she helped him with his shift. Great job!
South Tyneside Police were our first visitors of the day – It’s hungry work keeping our neighbourhoods safe!
Thank you to everyone for their donations.

Students on Gold Reward this week were treated to trampolining in Gateshead. This was a great way for students to build bridges and engage in a different environment. Students from a variety of classes all worked well as part of a group and every student interacted with one and other. It was a really nice afternoon.

Students in The Green Room visited the Co-op and had an excellent learning experience. They worked the tills, learned how to use the barcode readers and had a great time restocking the shelves.

Some year 10 and 11 students attended the Utilita Arena in Newcastle for a careers and information fair. The students were able to speak to many different stall holders. Students talked to colleges, looked into apprentices and looked at jobs in which were hands on and could work up through the levels.
The students really enjoyed the session, they all took part in activities and interacted very well and maturely with the staff on all of the stalls. Students really showed interest and they asked fantastic questions to gain as much information as possible.

In The Green Room, students collected rocks to make ‘Journey Cains’.
The Journey Cairns relate to the journey’s that the students would like their lives to take from short term goals at the bottom, to long term goals at the top.
This activity helped the students to think about how the decisions they make now can affect things that happen in the future.
