Bonfire Night and Darker Nights Safety

Bonfire Night and Darker Nights Safety

Parents, our school has been working closely with Police and other partners in the lead up to Halloween and Bonfire Night, this is to ensure that everyone enjoys this period safely. Police Officers have been in attendance in all schools in the area speaking to students & making them aware whilst this time is full of excitement, it can also be a frightening period for other members of the community .

In previous years the school has worked with the Police with teachers going out on patrol to provide support and engage with youths who they are familiar with .  This is something we will be replicating this year with the concerns of our students paramount as always.

Please advise your child to enjoy this period but to also be considerate to the local community as Police will be enforcing the law around antisocial behaviour.

Thursday 24th October 2019

Logan in Class 1 is ready for Halloween! He worked hard to make a pumpkin and is planning on writing a spooky story. Great attitude Logan!

Potions in motion! Class 2 worked brilliantly together to create petrifying potions. Lots of patience, collaboration, encouragement and instruction following was shown.

Thumbs up to potions. The first batch are finished! Read the labels to see what they change people into!

Our children have worked incredibly hard to complete pumpkins and potions ready for the Halloween fun day tomorrow.

Connor from Class 2 wrote a fantastic rhyming acrostic poem for Halloween.

The Beacon Centre Primary tweeted Connor’s work and was very excited to receive a reply from Cressida Cowell who is the author of ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ and a children’s laureate.

Cressida Cowell wrote:

‘Love the lurking ghosts waiting to be found… love to Connor from me.’

Fire Safety and Halloween in Primary

22nd October 2019Neaera Warren

Tuesday 22nd October 2019

Thumbs up to fire safety! This morning the children had a visit from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, to hear the important message about how to follow the Fire Work Code.

This is Tyler’s eye catching poster.

Something spooky is going on down in Class 2 at The Beacon Centre Primary.  Our Children  have been learning about the reason we have Halloween, and getting ready for Friday’s celebration.

Connor has done his illustration of Halloween complete with speech bubbles for that extra effect!

Yet another Halloween based piece of work! Tyler in Class 2 could tell me the date of Halloween, and the name of the day afterwards. He accessorised his poster with the scariest face imaginable!
