The Beacon Centre would like to say a huge thank you for the generosity of Hebburn Helps for making Christmas extra special for our students and their families.  All of these presents have been donated by very generous members of the public.

 

Hebburn Helps Community Food Bank and Crisis Response Team are a Voluntary Community Organisation that was set up to help local families who are finding it hard and are struggling to make ends meet. Primary Visit to Asda to Sing carols and Christmas songs

Today the staff and pupils at The Beacon Centre primary school went to Asda to sing carols and Christmas songs to fundraise for new outdoor play equipment.
Everyone sang beautifully and we would like to thank Mr Watson for giving up his time to accompany us on the guitar. 
We raised £107 which is fantastic!
We would also like to thank Mavis and Tracy from Asda as without them this wouldn’t have been possible.  It was clear that our parents and members of the public really enjoyed the singing by all of the applause.

The Beacon Centre Secondary is CLOSED

School is Closed

 

On Wednesday 11th December and Thursday 12th December The Beacon Centre Secondary will be closed due to an outbreak of the Norovirus.

School needs to be closed for 48 hours to have a deep clean following a ‘significant’ number of sickness reports.

 

Parents of students who show sickness symptoms are urged to keep their child off school until they have fully recovered

 

Please note that the review day on Thursday 12th December is cancelled and will be rearranged at a later date.

 

School will reopen on Friday 13th December. Remember to wear your Christmas Jumper to help raise money for ‘Save the Family’.

 

First Aid and Personal Safety

Students in The Green Room have been learning all about First Aid and personal safety. They had the opportunity to use a resuscitation mannequin.  All of the students enjoyed learning new skills and behaved extremely well during the session.  

Placement Award – Student of the Month

Ben was the student of the month which resulted him being recognised with a placement award for his engagement at Beach Hill Nursery.

 

Ben was rewarded new trainers which he went out and chose.

The staff are very proud of the efforts that Ben puts into his placement!

 

Fantastic Progress

Harry is attending Bragg Engineering as part of his work placement. The pictures demonstrate him using a machine that he is trained to use which is worth 25 thousand pound.

Harry is doing really well at his placement and is attending every week.

Halloween in The Beacon Centre Primary

Something spooky’s happened to our lovely children and staff at the Beacon Centre Primary! Fabulous costumes everybody. Thank you to our ever supportive parents.

Thumbs up to spooky biscuits. Our children have been honing their hygiene knowledge and fine motor skills decorating these spooktacular treats. Lots of patience, consideration and good manners evidenced too. Well done everyone!

Good old apple bobbing! Our children had a great day, thanks to the dedicated staff.

Magical maths! Millie in Class 1 is the Cleverest Witch in town, she made a repeating pattern paper chain and counted the links. Great job!
