Year 10 students have been finding out about the different functions that are available on Scientific Calculators to help them with different types of Maths exam questions. Both Kai and Bradley completed a treasure hunt task and are now more confident in using scientific calculators which is good news as two out of their three GCSE Maths papers are calculator papers!

Today Key Stage 3A visited Riverside Park at Chester-le-Street for their enrichment activity. Students enjoyed a walk along the river with Lilly and had a game of football. Although, most of the time was spent trying to fish the football out of the river, we don’t know what we would have done without Mr Brown’s quick thinking! The students were incredibly well behaved and it was a really enjoyable day for all staff and students involved!

Class 1 and 2 have been celebrating Halloween early this year, we have created lots of crafts and made The Beacon Centre primary look extra spooky. A fantastic end to a brilliant half term!
