Important timescales from the NHS of when a pupil may return to school after different symptoms or conditions.
On 4th February 2019, The Beacon Centre Secondary Pupils participated in Internet Safety Day where they learned about how to use the internet safely.
The pupils each produced a poster which was entered into a school competition. A pupil from year 9 and a pupil from year 11 won the competition for the best posters and were given a certificate and prize from our ICT Teacher, Ms Goodrich. The posters are now up on the school display for all to see as a resource to remind pupils of the importance of using the internet safely.

Welcome back to school.
All of the staff at The Beacon Centre hope you had a relaxing half term and are ready for school.
Key Thoughts:
The past was preparation, the future is a dream. It’s the present that counts. Live and learn passionately starting today.
‘Believe in yourself, perceive the lessons around you, receive knowledge with joy, and you will achieve anything you set your mind to.’
Thank you for a lovely half term. We hope you enjoy your week off.
From all of the staff at The Beacon Centre.
School reopens on Monday 25th February 2019.
Induction Team Building Activities – February 2019
During the activity week our pupils from induction had a varied timetable consisting of football, quizzes, cooking, games and music. The week ran with two groups competing against each other.
The groups showed off their team solving/building skills, as well as their artistic skills in learning how to do origami.
The groups planned a BBQ, unfortunately, after attempting to light the BBQ numerous times, they had to give up as the weather was against them. The two groups competed against each other in the kitchen where they applied their cooking skills.
The groups got together towards the end of the week where they participated in guitar playing and singing.
Our induction pupils enjoyed competing against each other, especially in the football completion.
It was a successful week which brought new skills to our pupils.
Today Miss Lee and Miss Pears said their farewells to The Beacon Centre to move onto new experiences.
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for their hard work and dedication and we would like to wish them good luck for the future.
This week some of our year 10 and year 11 pupils have completed their Functional Skills exams in English and Maths.
We look forward to receiving your results soon.
Well done and good luck to all that participated.
To raise money for Red Nose Day, one of our secondary pupils has organised a fundraising event at The Beacon Centre Secondary. She has also created posters which she has displayed around the school building to advertise it. See poster below for more details.
Our primary pupils are encouraged to wear something red or dress up in crazy outfit. Lots of fun activities have been planned including a funny face biscuit competition and a joke telling competition.
Please support us in raising as much as we can with a donation to Comic Relief of £1.
As always, your support is appreciated.
