Easter Craft

In stem, year 11 pupils took a break from exam revision to design and create a set of easter eggs. They took pride in the process and were very happy with the final product. Well done year 11s.

Free Open-Access Activity at Simonside Climbing Wall

Thursday 5th March, 5:30pm -9:30pm – Climb and BBQ

You are welcome to come to a FREE open-access activity that children, young people and families can get involved in as part of this year’s campaign, which is being coordinated in conjunction with colleagues and partners:

This will take place at Simonside Climbing Wall, South Shields, NE34 9SD (www.simonsideoutdooradventure.com/centres).

Over 170 unique climbing routes are available, in addition to a bouldering area, a digital traverse wall and 6 Clip ‘n Climb walls featuring:

  • An artificial ice climb
  • 2 digital speed climbs
  • A tufa climb
  • A jungle gym

Children from the age of 5, young people and families are welcome.

Visit to Scotland

Wednesday 12th February 2020

Today a small group of students went to Scotland. We passed through sun, snow and rain before getting to Scotland and it was awfully windy. Students took photos of the Welcome to Scotland sing, spoke to some local Scottish folk and played journey bingo on the drive.

Exploring Our Local Coastline

Tuesday 11th February 2020

Students explored our local coastline in Seaham today. Students were fascinated when they found a crab, the students were amazed at how along the beach the cliffs had little waterfalls and were creating large puddles that were interesting colours. Students played games with the bat and ball and walked at a quick pace the whole time increasing their heart rate and providing good exercise.

Year 11 Mock Exams

Year 11 Mock Exams and Review Meeting

Year 11 students will be taking their mock exams for GCSE core subjects from Monday, 10th February 2020.

These exams are a trial run of the actual GCSE examinations in Maths and English as well as the opportunity to complete the Hospitality and Catering practical examination. They form an important part of the students preparation for the final exams in the summer.

The timetable for the mock examinations is below and students are expected to arrive on time and wearing the correct uniform.

Parents are invited to a review meeting with Mrs Johnson to discuss your child’s progress and behaviour on Thursday 13th February 2020 at 9.00. If you are unable to attend this appointment please contact the school to rearrange the meeting.
