The Government’s plan for all children to return to school in September 2020 will be affected by parental views on the ongoing prevalence and incidences of Covid-19 outbreaks locally and regionally. You will be aware that some parents continue to be uncertain about their children returning to school, particularly where the family may have a member who is more susceptible to contracting Covid-19 or has significant underlying health conditions. We know that some parents have considered not returning their children to school immediately, preferring instead to see how the virus infection rates change once more pupils are being educated together in school-based environments.
Elected Members and Senior Officers are proposing to introduce an Informal Penalty Notice Warning stage . When a pupil meets the already established criteria for referral, the Attendance Team will upon receipt of an appropriate referral issue a letter to the parents warning that should their child continue to accrue unauthorised absences the Local Authority will issue a formal Penalty Notice Warning.

Welcome back to all of our students, it is lovely to see you all!
Today all of the staff and students in secondary sat together and ate their lunch which was an excellent opportunity to build up key relationships.

Today staff worked together to prepare for the next academic year.
Miss Walton shared her idea of creating a different type of staff display. This involved having a tree with all of the staff members mixed up together to create a family unit, to show the importance of everyone working together as a team.
Mrs Pattison used her artistic skills to draw and paint the tree, with help from our year 11 student, Molly.
Mrs Warren took all of the staff photos and then worked together with the rest of the staff, cutting and placing the photos onto the tree.
It was a fantastic team effort to put together this display. Everyone was pleased with the end result.
